1. Patient is made to sit or lie down comfortably.
2. The affected area is cleaned and purified with turmeric or gomutra.
3. Selected leech is applied to the skin for controlled bloodletting.
4. After sufficient time, the leech is removed and the site is dressed with turmeric or ghee.
